Cassidy Gold cuts 2.18 g/t Au over 25 m at Kouroussa
2006-02-07 15:05 ET - News Release
Mr. Jim Gillis reports
CASSIDY GOLD CORP.: GOOD RESULTS CONTINUE AT JUNCTION ZONE
Cassidy Gold Corp. has provided further results from continuing reverse circulation (RC) and
aircore drilling on its 100-per-cent-owned Kouroussa project, located in Guinea, West Africa.
RC drilling has recently focused on the newly discovered Junction zone and the nearby X-Vein
zone. Both are located about three kilometres northwest of Sanu Filanan. Highlights include
2.18 grams per tonne (g/t) Au over 25 metres in KRC764, 1.35 g/t Au over 32 metres in KRC766
and 88.68 g/t Au over two metres in KRC783.
Junction zone
KRC763 was drilled on section with KRC757 and 758 (1.01 g/t Au over 36 metres and 1.18 g/t Au
over 24 metres, respectively), in the northeast part of the zone, intersecting 1.62 g/t Au over
14 metres. KRC764 and 765 stepped out 40 metres to the southwest from KRC759 (1.70 g/t Au over
33 metres), intersecting 2.18 g/t Au over 25 metres and 1.18 g/t Au over eight metres,
respectively. KRC764 is the southernmost hole in the Junction zone to date. KRC766 to 768 form
a fence near the centre of the zone, intersecting 1.35 g/t Au over 32 metres, 1.44 g/t Au over
six metres and 1.54 g/t Au over eight metres, respectively. KRC769 to 771 form a fence through
the centre of the zone, intersecting several intervals of low-grade mineralization. KRC772
intersected 1.11 g/t Au over four metres and 5.37 g/t Au over five metres, 25 metres further
north.

KRC773 to 779 and KRC790 form two sections at the northern limit of the zone. KRC774 intersected
1.06 g/t Au over 14 metres. Down dip, KRC775 intersected three intervals, including 1.91 g/t Au
over eight metres and 0.83 g/t Au over 11 metres in KRC776. Fifty metres north, KRC778
intersected 1.33 g/t Au over 12 metres, KRC779 hit 1.01 g/t Au over nine metres, and KRC790
hit 2.45 g/t Au over two metres. True thicknesses are estimated to be 70 per cent of the
reported intervals.
The Junction zone is a northeast-trending zone of mineralization 10 to 30 metres thick,
consisting of quartz veining and silicification hosted in altered fine-grained sedimentary
rocks. The zone dips moderately to the southeast. To date, the Junction zone has been tested by
22 RC holes totalling 1,921 metres, arranged on seven east-west fences spaced approximately 40
to 50 metres apart along 400 metres of strike length. Aircore drilling is testing for strike
extension as the zone remains open to the northeast and southwest and to depth. In addition,
13 RC holes totalling 1,063 metres have tested mineralization in the immediate hangingwall
(northwest) of the main mineralized zone. Updated location maps will be posted on the company's
website shortly.
X-Vein
Eight RC holes totalling 649 metres were completed on east-west sections spaced 35 to 40 metres
at the current southern limit of the X-Vein, only 100 metres north of the Junction zone. KRC783
intersected 88.68 g/t Au over two metres and KRC782 intersected 3.72 g/t Au over three metres
on the northern section. KRC784 to 786 forms the central section and KRC788 and 789 make up the
southern section. The X-Vein structure strikes north with a steep west dip. More drilling is
planned to bring the X-Vein south to the Junction zone.

Planned program
Currently, RC and aircore drilling are testing the Bag Farm (Sodyanfe) to Junction zone trend.
Once complete, the RC drill will move to the Kinkine zone before resuming resource drilling at
Sanu Folo. Aircore drilling will test soil anomalies in the area between Sanu Folo, Koekoe and
Sodyanfe before heading to untested geochemical and geophysical anomalies at Benegban, Dalaoule,
Banjounani and elsewhere.
Sampling and assay procedures
RC and aircore drill samples were collected from the cyclone and split or pipe sampled to one
kilogram size. All samples were sent to the SGS analytical laboratory in Siguiri, Guinea, for
fire assay using a 50-gram subsample. Samples assaying greater than five g/t gold are reassayed
using a metallics screen technique. Repeat assays are made on every 25th sample, and duplicates
and blanks are submitted, one each in every 20 samples. Quality control/quality assurance is
closely monitored by RSG Global personnel.
Personnel
The exploration team in Guinea is headed by project manager Nick Hewson of RSG Global.
Christopher J. Wild, PEng, vice-president of exploration for Cassidy Gold, is the qualified
person for this release.
